4.6. Native Fauna

A number of threatened animal species occur in the Lower Murrumbidgee. One endangered amphibian, ten endangered birds, and one endangered reptile are known to occur in the region. Other endangered species are predicted for the region but have not been recorded. Many other vulnerable species are known or expected to occur in the Lower Murrumbidgee.

A more thorough listing of endangered species for the Murrumbidgee Catchment (Upper, Mid and Lower) is given under Schedule 4 of the Catchment Action Plan for 2008.
