Date:
2 Mar 2012 - 9:30am

Can you identify all your pasture species - the good, the bad and the ugly? Do you know how to ensure excellent production from them in all seasons? Can you manage them to ensure their conservation? ACT Landcare are holding a Native Grass Pasture workshop to cover all this and more!

The practical, hands-on workshop will include:

  • ID techniques for native and exotic grasses, forbs and their look-alike weed cousins
  • The lifecycle and growing conditions required by each species
  • The production and conservation value of each species
  • The relationship between soil health and biodiverse paddocks
  • Successful, cost-effective strategies to boost production and conservation values.

The workshop will be delivered by Alison Elvins of NaturalCapital, with the afternoon session hosted on a local property looking at local native pastures under cattle grazing.

The workshop is free and lunch is provided. For catering purposes, please RSVP by Wednesday 7th March:
