Printer-friendly version
Date:
26 Oct 2011 - 8:00am

The Australian Government is currently seeking applications from people interested in becoming a community assessor. Community assessors may be involved in assessing funding applications for things like Caring for Our Country, and Action on the Ground (under the Carbon Farming Initiative).

Applications are invited from people with:

  • Broad community knowledge and experience in managing natural resources
  • Knowledge of local NRM issues and opportunities
  • Knowledge of sustainable farming practices

Assessors will need to have access to reliable IT systems, to receive relatively large volumes of material by email or over the internet.

Assessors are paid for the time spent assessing applications, and related travel expenses.

Further information, and links to the application system, are available at: www.daff.gov.au/about/jobs/community_assessors
