Position Vacant - Local Landcare Coordinator (Leeton/Griffith)

A Local Landcare Coordinator position (0.5 FTE) is currently available in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation areas (based in Leeton or Griffith).

Local Landcare Coordinators work with their communities and host organisation to increase Landcare capacity by:
  • Supporting and increasing community engagement in Landcare,
  • Providing support to landcare groups, networks and landholders,
  • Undertaking planning, developing local partnerships and securing resourcing through project grants and other sources,
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on their projects and activities,
  • Facilitating and participating in natural resource management activities that address critical agricultural sustainability and environmental issues, and
  • Linking to programs of Local Land Services and other Government agencies and organisations to develop on-ground natural resource management projects, in line with regional and state strategies. 
Local Landcare Coordinators also participate in and contribute to a regional and state Landcare Community of Practice.
