The Spirit of the Land Festival is a colourful and vibrant celebration of the land. With artistic sculptures, fine arts and photography, lively markets, boutique stalls, fabulous foods, vivid open gardens, amazing entertainment, stylish vintage vehicles, the Festival is a fantastic experience for friends and family to enjoy.
New attractions this year include Helicopter rides, Hot Air Balloon rides, Leeton Lions Train and the Artisan Centre to be housed in the New Gunyah Hotel, in the heart of Lockhart.
In 2017 the Spirit of the Land Festival will be held on Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 October, following the fabulous Lockhart Picnic Races on Friday, 6 October.
Activities on both Saturday and Sunday include:
- Sculpture & Art Exhibitions (from 9 am until 4 pm). Admission $5 – Under 16 free
- Market & Food Stalls in the main street and under the verandahs
- Children’s entertainment
- Live Music by the lagoon from 9 am – 8 pm on Saturday, 9.30 am - 2.00 pm on Sunday
- Open Gardens – from 10 am until 4 pm
- Helicopter Rides – from 9 am until 4 pm
- Hot Air Balloon Rides – departs sunrise
- Free Leeton Lions Train Rides
- Bush Poetry
- Doris Golder Wool Art Gallery. Admission $5, Under 16 Free
