2017 NSW Farmer of the Year Award

The NSW Farmer of the Year Award is designed to recognise excellence in farming within NSW. A joint initiative by NSW Farmers and the NSW DPI, and supported by The Land newspaper and SafeWork NSW, the awards have a particular focus on acknowledging farmers who combine safe, environmentally sustainable practices with profitable production.

 

Prizes

This year's NSW Farmer of the Year will be awarded $10,000, two finalists will each receive $2,000.

 

How to enter

The NSW Farmer of the Year is open to farmers in NSW. Both men and women are encouraged to apply.

A NSW Farmers representative will contact you to arrange a time to go through the application questions with you and assist you with the application.

 

Selection process

A number of finalists willbe selected by the judging panel, which includes representatives from NSW Farmers, NSW DPI, The Land and SafeWork NSW.

Finalists will participate in a farm visit and interview. The finalists will be invited to the award presentation later in the year. Finalists’ travel expenses will be covered by the NSW Farmer of the Year program.
