Do you want to better understand how your farm is performing, and where to best focus your efforts or investments? Do you collect information, but you're not sure what to do with it? Or are you not sure what information you should be collecting?

Come along to one of these workshops, which are specifically designed to demonstrate what you COULD be doing on your farm over the next 12 months. No farm or financial figures required on the day.

The workshops will cover:

  • What makes a highly profitable farm, and what do these farmers do differently (production, financial & personal)?
  • Why analyse or measure your own business?
  • Tips for creating and personalising your accounting system
  • Creating a livestock inventory that’s useful
  • What information is important to collect to start monitoring your farms performance and how you could use this info down the track.

The workshops will be delivered by Paul Blackshaw. Paul has extensive experience as a Rural Financial Counsellor, as a Farm Business Economist with VIC DPI and is now a farm business advisor with Meridian Agriculture, providing farm business financial analysis and succession planning. Paul was responsible for the Livestock Farm Monitor report project - identifying profitability factors in farm businesses. Paul manages a small cropping farm near Rutherglen.
