Date:
21 Aug 2017 - 7:00pm
"Let’s Talk" is a Riverina Bluebell event presented in conjunction with the Deniliquin Mental Health Support Group to provided hope to those living with a mental illness and their supporters.

The forum is a whole of community event, with a focus on families of secondary school students and supporting those in the general or school communities struggling with mental illness. Parents are encouraged to attend with family members to engage with the panel members as they bring to light the hidden reality of living with a mental illness, both at school and in the general community. Hear about how to address it collaboratively using empathy, understanding, and positive peer support and highlight the role of professional support in early intervention, while lowering the barrier of entry to services by reducing stigma.

Panel speakers bringing local personal stories and perspectives are:
  • Lockhart farmer, Allen Hunt
  • Wagga parent, Bill Schulz
  • Albury-based Lifeline manager, Chris Pidd
  • Deniliquin GP, Marion McGee

The forum will be held at the Deniliquin Golf Club from 7pm on August 21.

Contact: Jan Gray, 0418 841 196 or Lourene Liebenberg, 0428 281 060.
