Guest Speakers: Chris Glennon and Ian Falconer - The draft ACT & Region Catchment Strategy
The draft ACT and Region Catchment Strategy (‘Catchment Strategy’) has been developed by the ACT and Region Catchment Management Coordination Group with strong involvement from catchment stakeholders. The Catchment Strategy sets a vision of “Government, community and industry working together to produce a healthy, productive and resilient liveable catchment region”. The Catchment Strategy aims to improve coordination, cooperation and collaboration in addressing the catchment management challenges across the multi-jurisdictional catchment.
Once completed the Catchment Strategy will set out 19 actions across five catchment themes to deal with the major challenges over the next thirty years which include the multi-jurisdictional nature of the catchment, a growing population and a changing climate.
Chris Glennon and Ian Falconer will present the key elements of the draft Catchment Strategy. This will be followed by a discussion in which there will be opportunity to provide feedback on the strategy.
