Rehydrating the Floodplains: Turallo Creek Open Day

Visit Turallo Creek where it runs through The Gib property and see a holistic farm approach to reducing creek erosion by creating a series of bed control structures. This in turn is rehydrating the floodplain and slowing the water flow.

The Turallo Creek riparian work has been done with inexpensive and non engineered structures and has been constructed using only on farm equipment.

The Gib also shows examples of extensive erosion reduction of the gullies entering the creek by use of fencing and planting to restore the damaged environment.
