Birds, plants and night animals of Five Ways Reserve, Henty

The Henty District Community invites interested people to participate in an evening of bird watching, plant identification and night stalk activities to identify and learn about local birds, plants and tree dwellings animals. This will be an educational opportunity building on the interest generated through the presence of Squirrel Gliders and Red Capped Robins in the vicinity of Five Ways Reserve. The main activities will be conducted by Mason Crane, Field Ecologist with the Australian National University.
When
5.30 to 9.00pm (Daylight Saving Time) Wednesday 21 October 2015
Activities
5.30 to 6.30pm Bird watching/listening, hollows and native plant identification
6.30 to 7.15pm Community BBQ (supplied at no charge)
7.15 to 9.00pm Night stalk for possums, squirrel gliders and nocturnal birds
Where
Meet at Five Ways Reserve approx. 12 kms west of Henty, corner of Pleasant Hills and Woodend Roads.
Who can come
Anyone interested in the natural environment, Landcare and bringing the community of Henty together. School age children are particularly welcome.
What to Bring
Binoculars, small torches, identification guides/apps. Wear warm clothes, long trousers and closed walking shoes
