In 1972 the Keep Australia Beautiful National Association commenced to lead, challenge and inspire all Australians to strive for a sustainable and litter free environment. In 2014, Keep Australia Beautiful describes its challenge as:
to continue to lead on resource management and become a change maker in tackling litter reduction.

The Green Lane Diary is an interactive site with curriculum linked education material to help 8-13 year old children understand sustainability, by working through topics including:
- water
- waste
- energy
- biodiversity.
Through the activities, young people turn 10 weeks of discovery into a Green Scrapbook.
ABC Splash explores recycling.
- Discover why plastic is harmful to our environment and how recycling helps to reduce its impact.
- Listen to Jon Dee, founder of Planet Ark, discuss the problem of plastic.
- Watch as a bag of household items are sorted to identify what can be recycled.
Teacher resource.
An interactive education program featuring Australia's World Heritage Places. Curriculum resources have been developed for students in years 5 - 10.
The aim of this program is to inspire students to explore our unique World Heritage listed places and develop an appreciation of heritage values. An understanding of heritage places in Australia and their significance in the world will encourage young people to appreciate them and help preserve them for future generations.
