Bob Shaffer, an internationally renowned soil “mechanic”, will be hosted by a party of local Landcare and Catchment Management organisations on the border 24-26 May. Monday 26 May Bob will be hosted by Rob Fenton at the Riverina TAFE’s National Environment Centre at Thurgoona. Bob will present in the classroom followed by an afternoon in the paddock looking at the application of various methods of soil management for sustainable, productive, profitable farms. Strategies will include use of cover crops, addressing mineral issues rom a whole-farm perspective including soil biology, soil physics and how the cover crop interrelates with food production and quality.
