The Ariah Park local agricultural businesses and groups are holding a field day including on farm visits, information sessions and experts in the field on hand throughout the day.
Monday 5th August
9.30am Ariah Park Footy Club Rooms
Morning presentations:
- Overview of 6 soil moisture probes recently installed in Ariah Park apart of a Mirrool Landcare project. How you can access live data to use as a tool when making decisions about nitrogen application.
- Paul Breust Farmlink – Practical application of moisture probe information and yield profit
- John Angus CSIRO and Jim Laycock Incitec – Nitrogen application
- James Hunt CSIRO – Increasing yield with early sown varieties, Impacts of grazing livestock on soil and crop yields
Afternoon presentations:
- Charlie Clemson Ardlethan–Advanced early sown Bolac at flag leaf stage. James Hunt, Rob Hart (HartBros Seeds) and TerryEdis (Elders) to discuss.
- Paul Griffin Ardlethan –Moisture probe data over multiple years and yield profit.James Hunt, Paul Breust and Jamie Pursehouse (Landmark) to discuss.
- Geoff Tidd Ariah Park – Stubble management project, Paul Breust and James Hunt to discuss. Pasture trials, Richard Hayes (DPI) and Jamie Pursehouse to discuss.
- Michael Denyer Ariah Park –Brief look at recently installed moisture probes, time permitting.
The morning session will be at the club rooms, the afternoon session will be a district bus tour. Full itinerary in the flier below.
Catering will be provided by the Ariah Park Central School hospitality students. To cover catering, cost for the day will be $10.
