Profitable regeneration of native pastures field day

The Riverina Highlands Landcare Network, with funding from the Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority, is holding a Regenerating Native Pastures field day on Tuesday the 21st May. The field day will be held at 2 locations, Wondowie and Tumblong with the same information to be presented at each site.
Guest speaker will be Graeme Hand, holistic grazing advocate and CEO of Stipa (Native Grasses Association) who will provide hands-on grazing management tools to maintain and rebuild perennial grasslands and ground cover.
Issues to be covered will include identification of perennial species present, feed budgeting, rotational grazing with extended pasture rest periods, maintaining groundcover and regular monitoring.
As part of the field day participants will be able to inspect perennial grass regeneration demonstration trials which have been established on these properties.
All Landcare members, landholders and interested persons are encouraged to attend.

When: Tuesday 21st May 2013
Time: 9:00am – 11:00am
Where: Wondowie Batlow Rd (look for field day sign)
Field Day 2
When: Tuesday 21st May 2013
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Where: ‘Mundarlo’, Old Hume Highway, Tumblong (look for field day sign)
Bring: Hat and appropriate footwear
