4.10. Water

The major water storages affecting the Lower Murrumbidgee are Burrinjuck Dam on the Murrumbidgee River and Blowering Dam on the Tumut River. Regulatory structures also alter flows in the area. Important weirs include Berembed, Yanco, Gogeldrie, Hay, Maude, Redbank and Balranald. Barren Box Swamp, Tombullen Storage and Lake Wyangan are further important water storages, and are heavily relied upon by neighbouring irrigation districts.
