The Philmac Project

Printer-friendly version

The Philmac Project is an initiative to improve water usage in local rural communities in a way that benefits the people of that community.

Proposals can be submitted by using the online submission form on the Philmac Australia Facebook page and completing all the relevant details. This will then be approved and submitted live on the Facebook page to be in the running for the grants.

Once submissions are visible on the Philmac Australia Facebook page, they can attract votes. The 5 submissions in each region that attract the most votes will be eligible for final round judging. The judging panel will then allocate up to $5000 per region for those top five projects. This may mean one project will receive $5000 or a collection of smaller projects may receive small amounts totalling $5000 in that region.

For final judging, each proposal is judged on 3 key criteria - 1. To what extent the project will benefit the local community. 2. To what extent the grant funding will benefit the project. 3. The potential for increased water efficiencies or environmental gains for the local community.

You can submit a proposal before December 14th, 2012. The longer your project is live on the Philmac Australia Facebook page, the more chance you have of attracting the votes that count towards shortlisting!
