Printer-friendly version
Date:
30 Apr 2012 - 5:00pm

The Murrumbidgee Rural Studies Centre (NSW DPI, Yanco) currently has fully funded positions available for part qualification towards a Certificate IV in Agriculture. This funding is being offered to women involved in farming in the Riverina region.

The funding covers enrolment in the following six units:

  • Maintain occupational health and safety processes

  • Manage small business finances

  • Minimise risks in the use of chemicals

  • Monitor and manage small business operations

  • Operate within a budget framework

  • Recruit, select and induct staff.

Participants usually complete these units within a 6 month time frame, although the Studies Centre are very adaptable, and will work with people to assist them to complete their studies successfully. One unit can be completed by home study, if need be. The Studies Centre hope to apply for further funding to allow participants to complete the qualification, or people may wish to build on the part qualification at their own discretion.

The Skills Handbook (available to download, below) gives a good overview of the program and what is involved. The Studies Centre are looking for women who have the skills and knowledge in the relevant areas.

Anyone interested in this opportunity is encouraged to complete and submit the Enrolment Form (available to download, below), or contact Carolle Leach at the Studies Centre for more information:

The Studies Centre would like to have enrolments confirmed ASAP, so don't delay or you will miss this opportunity!
