Cross Slot No Tillage On-Farm Demo - Wallendbeen

Printer-friendly version
Date:
16 Mar 2012 - 9:30am

   Presented by John Baker
Friday 16th March, from 9-11 AM
      at 'Berthong', Wallendbeen

The Cross Slot Seeder was the Henty MFD Machine of the Year 2011.

The Cross Slot is a unique disc-blade hybrid design capable of sowing through large amounts of trash, at row spacings down to 15cm. It can provide for separation between seed and fertiliser in the soil, horizontally and vertically. The Cross Slot can provide excellent ground penetration without 'hairpinning' issues, accurate seeding depth and improved germination under many soil and moisture combinations.

John Baker will give a brief presentation on no-tillage and the machine, and answer any questions.

John, and David Cook from Shepparton, will demonstrate the Cross Slot working through stubble in the paddock.

John Baker is a Kiwi. He lent his name to the simple, inverted-T 'Baker Boot' opener in 1975, which has since appeared on many seed drills. He has since led the effort that resulted in the development, production and marketing of the unique Cross Slot opener into 17 countries as a universal tool for arable no-tillage. (See Biography attached).
