FarmLink Research, in cooperation with Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative, are conducting a demonstration on how to safely and successfully burn windrows to reduce weed seed banks.
Rod Messina, a farmer from Mullewa, WA burns 10,000 ha of windrows each season. He will discuss the do’s and dont's of the practice, give a practical demo on wheat and canola stubbles, and discuss herbicide resistance problems and other strategies used to control herbicide resistance in WA.
The demo will be held on Thursday 15th March, from 3.00 pm, followed by a free BBQ and drinks. It will be at Peter, Lyn and Jason Coleman’s property - News Lane, Temora. For directions and further details, see the attached flyer.
