Fish habitat action grants

Printer-friendly version

Habitat Action Grants enable fishing clubs and individuals, community groups, local Councils and other community members to submit proposals for projects to enhance fish habitat including rivers, creeks, estuaries, wetlands and natural billabongs in NSW. Grants are limited to $30,000 (GST excl) and proposals should include matched funds or contributing in-kind support (such as voluntary labour, material, salaried staff) from the applicant or other sources. Habitat Action Grant proposals are advertised by NSW DPI every year, usually around August. Previously funded Habitat Action projects have included the improvement of fish passage at weirs, road crossings and floodgates, re-vegetation of river banks, restoration of wetlands and re-snagging.

For further information or assistance with completing an application form contact an Aquatic Habitat Rehabilitation Conservation Manager on (02) 6626 1107 or (02) 4916 3926 or email: fish.habitat@dpi.nsw.gov.au.
