Riverina Local Land Services 2016/17 Funding Program Open
On Wednesday 27 July 2016, Rob Kelly, General Manager of Riverina Local Land Services, launched the RLLS 2016/17 Funding Program, including the RLLS Community Grants program.
In total $2.8 million is available in grants and incentives to farmers, land managers and community groups across the Riverina.
There are a wide range of projects that address the broad areas of:
- productive farms
- natural landscapes
Activities to be funded include:
- construction of stock management areas
- fencing to subdivide paddocks to land capabilities
- soil testing and training to increase the adoption of sustainable land management practices
- assistance to attend conferences and workshops to increase knowledge in sustainable farming practices
- innovation for irrigation
- fencing to protect remnant native vegetation
- fencing and planting of native trees and shrubs
- native vegetation management
- threatened species protection
- wildlife corridors
- cultural burning
- engaging and sharing cultural knowledge
Projects will vary across local government areas within the Riverina region.
