In this edition:

El Nino is on the decline, and warm ocean temperatures in the Indian Ocean and off southern Australia are likely to increase moisture in weather systems across southern Australia. As a result the NSW three month outlook is for cooler and wetter weather than usual at this time of year. 2015 was the Earth’s hottest year on record, Australia’s fifth warmest year, and NSW’s seventh warmest year.

Australia’s agricultural emissions are falling due to improved management systems and lower livestock numbers. New methane methodology suggests that methane emissions from Australia’s cattle are 24% lower than previously estimated.
