For the first time in a long time Landcare had the Landcare shed at the Henty field site all to itself. Last year Landcare shared the shed with the Murray and Murrumbidgee CMA staff and displays. This year the rebranded Murray and Riverina Local Land Services set up elsewhere.

The Landcare shed is a big space to fill and personally I was a little worried that it might seem rather empty. However the Regional Landcare FacilitatorTarcutta Valley Landcare Group poster for the Murray region, Edwina Hayes, brought along a fencing trailer which was the perfect prop for vegetation and fencing supplies. Hay Bales, tubestock from Jayfields Nursery, cut vegetation, numerous posters and a ton of printed brochures and fact sheets amply filled the tables and floor space.

The shed is a landmark building just inside the western gate and is a welcome refuge during rain which inevitably falls on one or more of the field days.  Tuesday and Wednesday this year were fine but the rain fell down on Thursday morning and so the shed was busier than usual. Unfortunately, I was the only Riverina representative on site but the Murrumbidgee Landcare display boasted a series of posters especially commissioned for the field days which did us proud.
