Can a sheep farm be a biodiversity haven?

If it weren’t for the squashed kangaroos on the side of the road, you’d be forgiven for thinking that sheep or cattle were the only animal inhabitants of the landscape around Gundagai.
The rolling hills are largely cleared, with a scattering of huge old paddock trees left intact.
It was once temperate woodland, and although there is less than half a percent of that sort of environment left intact (and most of that is in cemeteries), there is a surprising amount of native species living on the sparsely treed farms.
