9.1.8.Threatened Species Conservation Act

Under the Threatened Species Conservation Act (NSW), landholders considering any clearing (or other actions that require local council approval, such as subdivisions) must also consider whether this may affect animal threatened species.
See appendix for a list of threatened species in the MMC.

A number of incentives are available to help landholders maintain native bush. These programs include funding for fencing, site preparation, site management (including weed and feral animal control) and tree and understorey planting and regeneration.
The incentive schemes are many and varied and change regularly, so contact your local CMA office for details.
