2.7. Introduced Fauna

Pest animals found in the Upper Murrumbidgee include feral pigs, foxes, rabbits, feral goats, feral horses, wild dogs, feral cats, deer, carp, redfin, oriental weather loach, trout, European wasps, Asian paper wasps, and red-eared slider turtles. A number of introduced bird species occur in the region also, including the feral pigeon, the Eurasian skylark, the European goldfinch, the European greenfinch, the house sparrow, the common starling and the common (or Indian) myna. An increase in abundance of the common myna in the last two decades has led to the formation of the Canberra Indian Myna Action Group, a community group aimed at eradicating the species.
