i) Chemicals and livestock

If using herbicides to control weeds on a block that also has livestock on it, take careful note of the time livestock must be kept away from any treated vegetation. If livestock do gain access to weeds that have been sprayed, this may have to be noted on the National Vendor Declaration/Waybill (NVD/Waybill), when the animals are sold, depending on the chemical used and how long before sale the breech occurred. This ensures the origin of the animal can be traced should any chemical residues be detected in their meat or milk.
