Native bat information evening - Yass
Primary tabs
Date:
12 Sep 2018 - 7:30pm
Yass Landcare Group are hosting an Information Evening on Native Bats, at the LLS office (1 Mitchell Street Yass).
You'll be amazed to find how many there are all around you every evening, what part they play in our ecology, their life cycle, strengths and vulnerabilities. And of course, what all us can do to help protect their future.
We are very fortunate to have two speakers:
- Heather Caulfield, Bat Coordinator for WIRES in Goulburn who will show us lots of things about the micro-bats that are all around us most evenings
- Peggy Eby will speak about Flying Foxes which have begun visiting this area, some taking residence at the Yass Courthouse and recently in Cowra.
Both speakers will be supported by our very own Denise Morgan, who has made the evening possible and has been involved with the Cowra Flying Foxes.
The Format for the evening will be:
• Presentation and questions: 7.30 - 8.30pm
• Tea and sticky buns with informal discussion with the presenters: 8.30 - 9.00pm
• YLG Business meeting to discuss previous minutes and forward planning: 9.00 - 9.30pm - a little later if necessary.
Please bring your ideas for YLG future activities - field days, projects, funding opportunities/needs and other issues you think we should discuss. If you can't come or can't stay for the business meeting, please advise if there are any changes required for the minutes and especially any ideas/requests for future activities. (Bikkies and cake would also be welcome :-) )
