Riverina Highlands Landcare Network (RHLN) is embarking on a 2 year project to look at the opportunities for maximising the use of dung beetles to improve pasture condition.
The first stage of the project involves a survey of landholders to find out more about your current perceptions of dung beetles. The survey should only take about 5 minutes of your time. All responses are voluntary, anonymous and confidential.
The results of the survey will be available on the Riverina Highlands Landcare Network website from April 2018
Following the survey, the next phase of the project will involve a series of field trials to measure changes in cattle dung pads as a result of dung beetle activity. For this part, RHLN is looking for 5 properties geographically spread across the region to be involved in the trial.
Landholders interested in being involved in the dung beetle trial should read the dung beetle project Fact Sheet and EOI Form. The EOI form should be returned by 31 March 2018.
This project has received funding from Meat and Livestock Australia.
