To celebrate its long term commitment to Monaro grasslands, Friends of Grasslands (FOG) is holding a Showcase and Workshop on 23 Nov 2017.
The Showcase will be held at the Old Cooma Common Grassland Reserve, to see its population of Monaro Golden Daisy. If you haven’t been to the Common, it is a large reserve with spectacular landscape views showing the extensive Monaro grasslands and distant mountains.
The Showcase will run from 10.15 am to 12.00 pm, at the Old Cooma Common Grassland Reserve.
Following this, a workshop will be held at Snowy Monaro Regional Council, 81 Commissioner Street Cooma, from 1.20 to 3.30 pm.
The workshop will feature a range of presentations, including:
- World Wide Fund for Nature early involvement in Monaro grasslands, the Purple Patches program, and future of Monaro grasslands
- FOG’s involvement in Cooma grasslands
- FOG’s grasslands monitoring of Monaro Golden Daisy project
- What we know of the Monaro Golden Daisy
- Managing Council-controlled public lands to protect threatened species
- SE LLS approach to preserve Monaro grassland threatened fauna, particularly Grassland Earless Dragon
A light lunch will be provided to workshop participants at the Council Chambers, starting at 12.15am.
