Upper Bidgee beds, banks and Maccas - Colinton

The Upper Murrumbidgee River has stunning gorges, waterfalls and stretches of river, as well as being home to some special fish. Through our Rivers of Carbon Upper Murrumbidgee River Rehabilitation project we have been connecting the Bredbo and Colinton Gorges by working with landholders in the Bumbalong Valley to fence, weed, stabilise riverbanks and revegetate with native plants.

Why have we gone to all this effort? Because we love our native fish, and one in particular, the Macquarie Perch. Come along and hear how our combined efforts with passionate locals has improved river health and contributed to better habitat for our native fish.

Prue McGuffie, who has been researching ‘Maccas in the Bidgee’ will give us an update on how these fish are faring, and whether improved habitat is making any difference. Antia Brademann will talk about the great work we have been doing in the Upper Murrumbidgee, along with landholders Kim Templeton and Helen Shimitras.
