To coincide with Threatened Species Day, Capernwray Australia and A Rocha Australia are facilitating a FREE threatened species seminar. Representatives from NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Greater Sydney Local Land Services, Greening Australia and Wingecarribee Shire Council will present and provide reports and updates on research and management of threatened species in the Southern Highlands, including:
- An overview of the Saving Our Species program
- A report on the recent mapping of endangered ecological communities
- A presentation on the importance of landscape scale conservation for threatened species
- An update on the Southern Highlands Koala Conservation Project
- Case studies of threatened flora and fauna species management and research
- A report on Wingecarribee Shire Council's initiatives for threatened species
- A presentation on threatened species of water birds with a walk to Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve
