FOG ADVENTURE to Wadbilliga National Park and Mt Kydra
Primary tabs
Many moons ago, FOG visited a rather lovely spot in Wadbilliga National Park (NP) that we called the Gentian Grassland (e.g. see News of FOG July-August 2009). It was an open grassy area absolutely covered by a gentian species that was prolific though not rare. There was also bountiful Xerochrysum palustre (Swamp Everlasting, p. 158 in Woodland Flora). This year’s early April expedition is a return visit, with the option of also climbing nearby Mt Kydra on the Sunday. We have been offered a camping area on nearby private property for both the Friday and Saturday nights. Other than camping, the closest town with accommodation and fuel would be Cooma (45 minutes away). The base camping site is approximately 2 - 2.5 hours from Civic. You will need to bring your own provisions for all meals, etc., and all the water you will need.
