YAN Strategic Planning Workshop
Primary tabs
If you thought landcaring was all about hard work and getting dirty come and have lunch in Yass on Saturday 26 October.
We want to hear from you on how the Yass Area Network of Landcare Groups (YAN) can better help local Landcare efforts.
YAN is quite serious about this. Future years are bound to have less Government money on offer. With increasing climate variability we will see tougher threats to both our living environment and rural productivity.
To tackle this before it bites any harder YAN needs to focus clearly on your needs. With your participation a planning day can cut through to spot problems and, most of all, look at future opportunities.
YAN has invited three outstanding Landcare Groups to show us how they have hurdled problems and galvanized community resources. The forward plans and benefits they have made for themselves are truly inspirational.
To make sure this day will be really useful we have invited a renouned facilitator, Coral Love, to coordinate discussions. She will help distil your contributions into viable action plans. Coral Love is a former National Landcare Facilitator with an impressive record in building Landcare momentum.
So please put this day - 10am to 3pm - into your calendar as a ‘must attend’ event, just after the Murrumbateman Field day.
All local Landcare groups and their members are invited to participate.
Event Programme
On the day the scene will be set by presentations on recent developments affecting natural resources management and the future role of Landcare. Successful Landcare groups will also reporting on their experiences and plans for the future.
This will be followed by a facilitated working group session in which all are invited to take part. We want to you to help in developing a program for YAN setting out the key things YAN can do to support Landcare groups and their activities and to promote and coordinate Landcare activity across the region.
The facilitator for the day will be Coral Love, a former National Landcare Facilitator and principal of Marian Partners Australia, who has an outstanding record over many years with Landcare at both local and national levels.
This is your opportunity to hear about current issues and developments and to have a say in giving YAN directions for the future that will benefit all Landcare groups.
