NAIDOC Week, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, has many events in indigenous communities, government agencies, schools, local councils and workplaces.
This year's theme, ‘We value the vision: Yirrkala Bark Petitions 1963', marks the indigenous protest of the Commonwealth's granting of mining rights on land excised from Arnhem Land reserve which set about a spiral of change.
