Aranda Snow Gums and Aranda Bushland
Discover the surprising diversity of our bushland hills by walking with Friends of Aranda Bushland. Celebrate the milestone of our early planners who were passionate about native plants and kept the hills free of buildings. See remnant Snow Gums - heritage listed as the best Canberra example with the frost hollow grasslands, woodland and forest zones largely intact. Learn about iconic eucalypts and how to identify ten species (half those in ACT). See how the eucalypt mix differs as you ramble from zone to zone.
Location: Aranda Snow Gums and Aranda Bushland.
Meet: at balloons off eastbound William Hovell Drive, south of Aranda following Black Mt carpark signs.
BYO: hat, sunscreen, water, stout shoes and a gold coin donation.
