9.1.1.Remnant native vegetation
Remnant vegetation is the remaining indigenous vegetation, including forests, woodlands and native grasslands, in an otherwise cleared landscape.
The value of remnants is increasingly recognised, and many landholders are protecting and linking areas of remnant vegetation so they become self-supporting and regenerate naturally.
The Charles Sturt University Virtual Herbarium is an internet resource focusing on the native plants of the Murray and Murrumbidgee region of NSW. The Virtual Herbarium allows you to view specimen information and images, obtain detailed revegetation information for the South West Slopes and the Riverina of NSW, access the On-Line Grasses Guide and use the Woodland Web. You can also access online copies of the Native Vegetation guide for the Riverina and the South-West Slopes Revegetation Guide on this website: On the Greening Australia website, FloraBank Fact Sheets are available for native vegetation identification and management information.
