Please note: This workshop has now been booked out; if you are interested in registering your interest in a similar workshop in the future, please contact Nicole Maher (nmaher@murrumbidgeelandcare.asn.au, or 0487 953 776).
Murrumbidgee Landcare are holding one of the extremely popular field days on "Sustainable Horse Management on Small Properties" in Yass, on Sunday 24th June 2012. The field day will presented by Stuart and Jane Myers (expert on horse management, and author of "Managing horses on small properties") and Alison Elvin (expert on pastures and weed management).
The field day will include:
- Presentation of sustainable horse properties, including good and bad examples, to assist participants with designing their own properties,
- Discussion and advice on property layouts brought in by participants (be sure to bring in an aerial photograph of your property, if possible), and
- Field trip to a local property, to discuss property planning principles.
The field day will run from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm. The morning session and lunch will be held at the Yass Golf Club (Worth Street Yass). This will be followed by a visit to a local property, just a few minutes out of town, to talk about property planning and discuss local pasture and weed species.
Registration
Murrumbidgee Landcare are heavily subsidising this event, to allow us to bring it to you for a cost of just $20 per person. This includes morning tea and lunch, as well as a copy of Jane's booklet "Small horse properties: A management guide".
Places for the workshop are strictly limited, and previous workshops have sold out, so be sure to reserve your place early! Please complete the Registration Form (below) and submit, together with your payment, to Nicole Maher by Wednesday 20th June 2012.
