This Forum provides your chance to hear from the experts on the latest research and techiques available to Riverina producers, highlighting three years of climate change adaptation research in the southern Australian livestock industries.
Attendees will hear the latest results from the Southern Livestock Adaptation (SLA) project. This research looked at how producers can adapt to a changing climate and was carried out at various locations across NSW, VIC, SA and WA.
Note that this event was originally scheduled for 14th March, but was rescheduled due to the flooding in Wagga.
Speakers will include:
- Phil Graham (Grazing Systems Specialist, NSW DPI) - Climate adaptation options for southern livestock systems
- Phil Bowden (District Agronomist, NSW DPI) - Climate adaptation strategies for southern NSW
- Michael Cashen (Agricultural Climatologist, NSW DPI) - Cropping management adaptation options for Riverina producers
- Warwick Badgery (Research Agronomist, NSW DPI) - Soil carbon sequestration: the impacts of climate, soil type and landuse
- Russell Ford (Primary Producer) - Innovations in sustainable farming: reducing inputs and increasing productivity.
The event is being organised by MLA (Meat and Livestock Australia), and will be held at the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre (CSU campus), Wagga Wagga.
