“Along the Barton Highway to Yass: urban, peri-urban and rural landscapes.”
8.00 am | Registration opens at the Queanbeyan City Council Conference Centre, Crawford St, Queanbeyan |
8.30am | Opening of the UMCCC & MLI Forum Day 1 Field trip housekeeping Tea, coffee and morning tea available |
9.00am | Bus departs Queanbeyan City Council Conference Centre |
9.40-10.20am | Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve, northern ACT Mulligans Flat and Bush on the Boundary. |
10.45-11.15am | The Forde Development – urban design for the catchment |
11.40-12.15pm | Namima Travelling Stock Route – management and revegetation |
12.30pm | Murrumbateman Reserve – LUNCH PROVIDED |
1.00-2.30pm | Murrumbateman & surrounds – rural residential, lifestyle blocks, peri-urban estates and their pressures on the landscape |
3.00-3.45pm | “Nanima Gold” Yass River Rd – Farm Forestry and sustainable farm management |
4.00-4.30pm | “Bowylie” Yass – Willow removal and river restoration on the Yass River. |
5.30pm | Bus arrives back at Queanbeyan Function Centre |
Snacks, fruit and drinks will be available during the day in addition to lunch
