What does grass roots climate change adaptation look like?
Please tell us about changes you’ve made in your home, work and interests in response to a changing climate.

The grassroots adaptation project is all about putting individual adaptation actions on the map in order to share knowledge between individuals and see how people are responding to climate change at the local scale. For example:
- Urban residents are sharing their changes to transport or retrofitting urban dwellings
- Suburban gardeners are explaining how they adapt when ‘Full sun’ recommendations on plant labels are no longer applicable
- Farmers are describing the differences they’ve made on their farms to retain soil water in drier conditions
The project is being conducted by CSIRO and the University of Technology Sydney and is currently open to all residents of NSW and the ACT with a view to expanding to other states if there is strong uptake of the platform.
