Pozible - LIFE

From Rob Dulhunty, Chair, Landcare NSW Inc.

I write to let you know about our recently launched initiative which will allow community Landcare and environment networks and groups within your area of interest to submit projects for crowd-based public fundraising. Landcare NSW Inc and the fundraising platform Pozible recently launched their new Fundraising Partnership and the online 'digital shopfront' called "The Landcare & Environment Collection". The Partners are now developing The Collection further, to be a national, and global, fundraising pathway.

The Collection Partners now seek project proposals for The Collection from groups and networks keen to take part in The Collection's global 'live' launch, to coincide with the 25 Year anniversary of the start of landcare in Australia, in National Landcare Week from 1-7 September 2014. Project proposals can be submitted anytime online by any landcare and environment group or network, with a deadline of 31 July 2014, for inclusion in the first 25 projects of The Collection (the 'legacy' projects). All projects submitted will be considered for the first 25 projects, with the first 25 given a special spotlight, highlighted through the National Landcare Conference in Melbourne (17-19 September 2014). All other projects can still be uploaded to the Collection, once the first 25 projects are launched and underway.

Landcare and Pozible aims to help community projects further, through two initiatives, where we will:

  1. seek 'matching' funding through philanthropic, business, government and industry groups and other funders, to help raise further funds for projects, and

  2. guide and train project proponents to get their projects ready for crowdfunding & co-matching.

How your organisation can participate

We ask that you consider the following ideas for your participation:

  1. Let your Landcare and environment networks know of The Collection, through the website: http://www.pozible.com/landcare

  2. Actively seek a couple of projects, which are representative of the best and the breadth of Landcare and environment grassroots groups and their activity, and help them to submit these by the online application submission date of 31 July 2014, to be considered for the 25 projects we'd like to launch and feature during National Landcare Week (1-7 Sept)

  3. Consider (according to your ability) to provide support and/or 'matching' funding, for those group projects which are selected for the 25 year anniversary spotlight

  4. Support some of your network's Landcare and environment leaders (both the young and the not so young) with travel costs to get to a training event, where Landcare and Pozible will train them as Ambassadors for the Landcare and Environment Collection and enable them to be inspired and have the skills to train others.

  5. Consider using The Collection's 'digital shop front' platform for your own sourcing and funding or other support of Landcare and environment projects and groups within your area of influence.

I encourage you to seek out those with both an interest in using digital technology and with a great empathy and understanding of Landcare and environment to drive this within your networks. At this time it is important to encourage, motivate and provide new ways for our loyal Landcare networks to continue to access the public profile and fundraising potential that they both deserve and greatly need.

I have attached the press release from the recent launch of the Landcare Pozible partnership which provides further information about this great initiative.

Regards,

Rob Dulhunty,

Chairman
Landcare NSW Inc.
