A warm welcome to MLi's new Chair
MLi held its AGM on Friday 11th May 2014. MLi's constitution provides that a Chair may serve no more than three consecutive years. The meeting offered a heartful thanks to the untiring efforts of outgoing Chair, Professor Ted Wolfe, for his work for MLi over the past three years. The meeting acknowledged that Ted has left a significant legacy; building MLi's profile at a regional level; strengthening MLi's relationships with Landcare, NRM and agricultural organisations and contributing to regional and state Landcare policy and planning. The meeting welcomed Ted's willingness to remain a member of the MLi committee and accept nomination as one of MLi's representatives on the state community Landcare committee, Landcare NSW.
As MLi is in the process of implementing the changes recommended by a community driven strategic planning process, we are very pleased that Tom Stacy has accepted nomination as the new Chair of MLi. Tom is a solicitor and farmer from Tumut and has a long history of direct involvement with Landcare and catchment planning and policy. His skills and expertise are enthusiastically welcomed by MLi at this time.
MLi will invite Tom to introduce himself in our next e-news and give an outline of his vision for our organisation into the future.
