Funding for communities to implement Heywire projects
In February 2013, 32 Heywire competition winners gathered in Canberra to develop ideas aimed at improving life for young regional Australians.
$70,000 is now available to help regional communities implement these ideas.
The ideas range from encouraging young people to stay on the land and in regional communities, to tackling the problem of homophobia in country towns, to combating negative media representations of body image and Australian youth, to mental health awareness. Each idea is backed by a plan for community engagement and is ready to be picked up and rolled out by a keen and committed regional community.
If your local community would like to be involved, simply download the ideas report and submit your application by 5pm June 7th 2013.
Heywire is an initiative of ABC Radio.
