3.3. Landforms
The region is subdivided into three zones:
Alps and Headwaters: The upper catchments of the Tumut and Coobarragandra rivers. Land is rugged. Occasional peaks exceed 1300 metres, mostly in Kosciuszko National Park.
Southern Slopes: Undulating to steep territory between the headwaters and the plains. Elevations between 200 and 800 metres.
Riverine Plain: Begins west of Bethungra and Tumut and extends west of Wagga Wagga.
