8.2.1. Water quality

On any landholding, it is desirable to have high quality water available for any sort of livestock or horticultural production. While there are limited ways to change the quality of water obtained from a bore, there is much that landholders can do to improve and maintain surface water quality.
In a river, stream or dam, poor water quality reduces the aesthetic value and environmental health of the water source, as well as lowering any livestock or horticultural production using it.
