i) How can you tell if you have saline soils?

Dryland salinity can be detected visually by changes in pasture composition as well as scalding of the ground surface.
Cocksfoot and white and subterranean clover thin out and disappear as salinity levels increase, and are progressively replaced by more salt-tolerant species including Paspalum, Yorkshire Fog, Couch and Sea Barley Grass.
