Using drones in grazing enterprises - Tumut

Date:
16 Jan 2018 - 8:30am
Riverina Highlands Landcare Network is hosting a field day focussed on how drones can benefit graziers.

This event will provide landholders with information about how to use drones, what rules and regulations apply and how they can be valuable to a farming or grazing enterprise.

During the morning, National Drones will demonstrate how drones can be used to give an insight as to what is happening in the paddock from checking heifers that are calving, confirming water levels in troughs and dams, checking fence lines, counting stock numbers and identifying feral animal and weed issues.

National Drones are also trialling the use of drones to control weeds in remote and difficult to access sites. A demonstration of the use of drones to control blackberries on a nearby steep hillside will be provided.

This workshop is free thanks to support from Riverina LLS and the National Landcare Program and is open to any interested persons.

The field day will be held on Tuesday 16th January 2018 on David and Jenna Roots property ‘Truro’ from 8.30am to 11.30am with morning tea provided.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to the Riverina Highlands Landcare Network on 69 411 402.
