Monaro Soils and Geology tour - Cooma

Are you interested in learning about the origins of the Monaro's agricultural soils and iconic landmarks? Join members of the NSW Soil Knowledge Network as they visit the region, and discover how these soils were formed, and the geological events that preceded them.

This bus tour, organised by South East LLS, will include:

  • "The Brothers", Monaro's remnant volcanos and surrounding basalt plains
  • Maffra Lake and Snowy River
  • Berridale Boulders (granite outcrops) and the Berridale fault
  • Upper Snowly Landcare Monaro dieback project sites
  • Arable road and its surprising geological features

The bus will depart from the Centennial Park Bus Bay in Cooma at 12.45 pm. Afternoon tea will be provided.
